Happy New Year! The start of January marks not only the end of the festive season, but also the end of our 2020 Christmas Meal Appeal.

At African Adventures, we’re hopeful that 2021 will be a much better year for all of us. When the time is right to do so, we’ll be ready to give our volunteers life-changing and unforgettable experiences in Africa once again – and we know our partner projects can’t wait to host you!

Since 2014, our Christmas Meal Appeals have raised over £17,000, enabling us to provide nutritious meals and festive celebrations for the children at our partner projects. Our 2020 Christmas Meal Appeal was especially important, however, as a lack of financial support available in our host destinations during the Coronavirus pandemic has led to economic uncertainty and food insecurity at our partner projects.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, our 2020 Christmas Meal Appeal raised an amazing £4,715.78!

A huge thank you to everyone who donated – your support means that we were able to give the children we support the special treat they deserve after an extremely tough year. We would like to say a special thank you to the Romsey School, who raised an amazing £1,013.57 through a non-uniform day.

Below is a selection of photos of the Christmas parties that your donations helped fund.

In Zanzibar, our partner projects used your donations to hire a bus to take the children to the beach for lunch and a paddle.

We’ll share more photos as we receive them from our in-country teams, so keep an eye on our social media channels!
