It’s that time again! With the Christmas Meal Appeal now in its 7th year, we’re aiming higher than ever to provide as many children as possible at our partner schools across Ghana and Kenya with a celebratory Christmas dinner.

It will cost just 50 pence to provide a student with a special Christmas meal they can savour with friends and fellow pupils, and our goal this year is to raise enough funds to provide one for each and every one of these school children. With the African Adventures Foundation marking its incredible 10th year this year, anything you can contribute that will help us achieve this goal will go directly to the campaign initiative and makes a huge difference for those at our partner schools receiving them.

Fred Egesa, our Senior Trip Host in Kenya, spoke to two students at The Walk Centre in Nakuru to find out just what the meal means to them. Caroline, who lives with her grandmother and five siblings, said:

“The Walk Centre is like a home to us. Life at home is a big challenge. The Christmas Meal Appeal means a lot to us for it gives us a chance to enjoy Christmas like any other child and I’m looking forward to sharing the meal with my fellow students”.

Faith, a fellow school child at The Walk Centre, added:

“Life isn’t easy and The Walk Centre has been very supportive to our family. The Christmas Meal Appeal means more than anyone can imagine. It is an opportunity for us to enjoy, have fun and celebrate.”

Peter Muhoro works at The Walk Centre and told us that without the money raised through the appeal, the reality for these young children is that they’ll spend their time on the dump site in Nakuru, searching for discarded food that could be a week old. He said:

“I would like to call upon you to give our children a great Christmas meal. If you can continue to support them, they will all be so happy to be able to party like any other kid.”

You can donate to the Foundations’ 2023 Christmas Meal Appeal here knowing that every penny will go to students like Caroline and Faith and their much deserved school celebration.

Thank you/ Asante Sana for your support and a Merry Christmas from all at the African Adventures Foundation.
