This Autumn, our volunteers made a lasting impact at our partner schools in Kenya and Ghana, where they completed over 6,000 hours of project work, helping to provide a quality education to over 1,505 children at the partner schools they visited.
Kenya
Gracekids Education Centre
To ensure a safe learning environment at Gracekids, volunteers helped to lay cabros on the veranda outside of the classroom block.
Love G School
Our Autumn programme marks a year since we partnered with Love G, and it is great to see the impact our volunteers have been making.
In the summer, our volunteers completed the construction of a semi-permanent kitchen at Love G. To ensure the security of the school’s facilities, the next project for our volunteers was to construct fencing around the school site.
With support from local fundis (builders), our volunteers made significant progress.
Greentech Academy
It’s been an exciting Autumn Programme for Greentech Academy as they take one step closer to becoming a registered school with the Ministry of Education, following the construction of a permanent classroom block funded by African Adventures Foundation.
Volunteers contributed to the development of the school site by continuing to construct fencing around the school grounds, helping to increase security for the school.
Nakuru Grace Academy
Creating a comfortable learning environment where students can focus during lessons was one of Nakuru Grace’s goals for our autumn programme. Volunteers helped to construct 16 desks and chairs, which will be used in the 7th-grade classroom.
Through the teaching role, volunteers help increase engagement in the classroom and provide one-on-one support, which students often don’t receive due to overcrowding. Volunteers left their mark by helping to teach maths, English and music lessons.
Volunteers shared their passion for football and organised a match where 30 enthusiastic students got involved. It ended 8-7 to the volunteers.
On the last day, volunteers made a Kenyan staple, chapatis, which all the students enjoyed.
St Trizah
St Trizah welcomed a group of volunteers who made their mark by painting the outside of 12 classrooms.
Volunteers taught a range of lessons, including learning about other countries and their flags, playing sports games and meditation!
Andy Star Academy
Andy Star educates children aged three to six. The school site lacked perimeter fencing and is situated next to a road. Our volunteers got to work helping to construct perimeter fencing around the school site, creating a safe environment for the students.
Ghana
Rhema Abutia School
A big focus for some of our partner schools is to increase the security of their school site and provide one clear entrance to the school. By having a single entrance, teachers will be able to identify students who are late and then work with them to improve their attendance, ensuring they don’t miss out on vital learning time. To achieve this, we are working with Rhema to build a perimeter wall around the school site.
Our volunteers picked up the baton from our previous groups and continued to mould bricks to construct a perimeter wall, which they then laid. They also helped to cast pillars.
Woe EP School
This Autumn, volunteers picked up the baton from our summer groups and continued with the construction of a library at Woe EP. Volunteers helped to mould blocks for the build and cast pillars.
The new library will provide a dedicated space for learning and will transform the educational experience for 543 students.
Thank you to all our volunteers who participated in our 2025 autumn programme and helped make a long-term, sustainable impact at our partner schools.
The final plans are underway for our 2026 programme, and we can’t wait to see our volunteers continue with some of these projects. Find out how you can get involved in making a difference at one of our partner schools.
